Chelsea vs. Leicester lineups, expected starting 11, confirmed team news, injuries: Nkunku, Enzo to start?

Chelsea will seek to maintain the momentum of back-to-back wins when they take on Premier League strugglers Leicester City.

Enzo Maresca recovered from three consecutive defeats across all competitions by beating basement boys Southampton in England’s top flight and FC Copenhagen in the Europa Conference League.

Those were both very much games the Blues were expected to win and the same applies to this match against Maresca’s former club.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Foxes have lost 11 of their past 12 Premier League matches and are five points from safety, while Chelsea are aiming to finish the weekend back in the top four after the third-vs-fourth clash between Nottingham Forest and Manchester City.

Wesley Fofana could return against his former club following a thigh problem, while fellow defenders Benoit Badiashile and Malo Gusto could recover from knocks suffered in Denmark.

Romeo Lavia is also back in training but Maresca is sure to tread carefully with the injury-plagued defensive midfielder.

Enzo Fernandez and Christopher Nkunku came off the bench at Copenhagen to spark an improved second-half showing, with the Argentina midfielder getting on the scoresheet.

Nicolas JacksonNoni Madueke and Marc Guiu remain on the sidelines.

Leicester also have positive news in defence, with right-back Woyo Coulibaly passed fit to feature. Caleb Okoli could also return to start at centre-back in an embattled backline.

Stephy Mavididi is pushing for a start after six consecutive substitute outings. Ricardo Pereira has returned to light training following his hamstring injury but is out along with Abdul Fatawu.
