PSV vs. Liverpool lineups, expected starting 11, confirmed team news, injuries: Salah, Dembele ready for UCL battle

Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool are each looking to go deep in the UEFA Champions League after virtually wrapping up their respective domestic titles.

Arne Slot’s Reds are 13 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League, while PSG have the same margin of advantage over Marseille in Ligue 1. Liverpool’s defeat to Nottingham Forest back in September is the only league loss either side has suffered this season.

However, they experienced contrasting league phases in the Champions League. Liverpool stormed to first place, winning each of their first seven matches, while PSG had to salvage a spot in the elimination playoffs by winning each of their final three.

That showed Luis Enrique’s men hitting peak form, though, as RB Salzburg, Manchester City and Stuttgart were swept aside. An even more brutal showing came in the playoffs, as Ligue 1 counterparts Brest were eviscerated 10-0 on aggregate.

Liverpool will represent an entirely different challenge, even if this has come to feel like a somewhat dubious reward for coming first.
