Where is the Laver Cup 2025? Location, stadium, court surface for Team Europe vs. Team World

Being hosted in six countries through its first seven editions, the Laver Cup is one of the most well-travelled events in the world.

It will return to the United States for a third time with San Francisco, California taking the event to the country’s West Coast for the first time.

Team Europe will take on Team World in the team tennis tournament that will be played across three days.

The Sporting News has all the details on there the Laver Cup is being held.

Where is the Laver Cup being played?

For the first time, the Chase Center in San Francisco will host the Laver Cup.

The venue is home to NBA’s Golden State Warriors and WNBA’s Golden State Valkyries.

Chase Centre has a capacity of 18,000 for basketball and 19,500 for concerts, with its tennis capacity currently unknown.

It will be the third time the event has been played in the United States, with it previously being held at the United Center in Chicago (2018) and Boston’s TD Garden (2021).

What surface is the Laver Cup played on?

The Laver Cup will once again be played on an indoor hard-court surface, like the previous seven editions.

However, the hard-court surface used for the Laver Cup is also covered with a layer of sand, which is designed to slow play down and make the rallies longer.

Laver Cup 2025 schedule, dates

The Laver Cup is a three-day event, this year taking place from Friday, Sept. 19 to Sunday, Sept. 21, all at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

Each day, three singles matches and one doubles match are played, to the best of three sets, with the last being disputed as a 10-point tie-break match format.

A team wins by reaching 13 points. Friday’s wins are worth one point, Saturday’s two points and Sunday’s three points — which ensures that no team can become champion before the last day.

If the competition is tied after 12 matches, a final overtime doubles match is played. If only one match is required to win on Sunday, an exhibition match will be played following the trophy ceremony.
