Hernandez (36-2) had a six-fight win streak snapped in October 2023 when O’Shaquie Foster knocked him out in The Sporting News’ 2023 Fight of the Year to retain the WBC super featherweight title. “Rocky” has since won two straight.
The 27-year-old is fighting for just his fourth time outside of Mexico. With 32 knockout wins, Hernandez looks to continue his ascension back to the top of contention at 130.
Giron (20-3) had a three-fight win streak before losing against Floyd Schofield in November. “El Bravo” has 13 wins via knockout and is ready to start a new streak.
It is an all-Mexican affair in Canada, and the two fighters look to impress and stand out in an open but entertaining super featherweight division.
“I can’t afford to lose this fight,” Giron said via FIGHTMAG. “I’m looking to win by knockout.”
