76ers predicted to make major organizational shift in hopes of avoiding cutting ties with Joel Embiid, Paul George

On paper, the Philadelphia 76ers were supposed to be one of the premier teams of the Eastern Conference, but it just has not panned out, with the Sixers being 20-36 and the 12th seed. Some people have called for superstars to be traded, but there is also another avenue if the Sixers want to continue with their current stars. Fansided’s Christopher Kline proposed the Sixers part ways with their current coach, Nick Nurse, who he thinks doesn’t know how to coach this Sixers team.

“Nurse’s rotations are baffling. He’s at the point of just throwing you-know-what at the wall and hoping something sticks,” Kline wrote. “When players aren’t trying, the scheme looks half-assed, and your postgame energy can most readily be described as utterly defeated, you cannot coach a winning team. Nurse has the accolades to back up his reputation, but it’s just not working in Philadelphia. He cannot, under any circumstances, be back on the sideline next season.”

Nurse was a top tier coach early in his head coaching career, and even won an NBA Finals in 2019, along with a Coach of the Year in 2020 with the Toronto Raptors. However, since then, he’s been a shell of that.

With the Raptors, Nurse had a winning percentage of 58%, but in his two years with Philadelphia, he only has a winning percentage of 49%.

With the team the Sixers have, they should be a top five team in the East. However, this year has proven that something must change. And with the giant contracts Joel Embiid and Paul George command, changing coaches might be the easiest option.
