One of the most well-known race tracks in the world will host dozens of racers this weekend.
The Daytona 500 is one of the most anticipated events of the NASCAR season, and luckily for fans, it comes early in February. It’s the first points-paying event of the Cup Series season.
William Byron won last year’s Daytona 500 despite leading just four laps after starting 18th.

What time does the Daytona 500 start?
- Date: Sunday, Feb. 16
- Time: Approximately 2 p.m. ET
Due to inclement weather in the forecast, NASCAR moved up the expected start time of Sunday’s Daytona 500 an hour. Coverage is now set to begin at 1:30 p.m. ET with the green flag set to drop around 2 p.m. ET.
