Heat offseason trade idea lands $194 million Suns star to assist Tyler Herro

The Phoenix Suns’ star-studded roster is intact this season but could experience a massive change in the summer.

An age-defying 6-foot-11 superstar could move on from Phoenix in the summer and join the Tyler Herro-led Heat.

“The Suns flirted with moving (Kevin) Durant before the deadline but reportedly ran into a roadblock when KD refused to join the Warriors for a second stint,” Fadeaway World’s Eddie Bitar wrote Wednesday.

“With (Devin) Booker deemed untouchable and Beal locked into a no-trade clause, Durant emerges as the Suns’ most viable trade piece.”

“Durant could still command a sizable haul in the trade market, as teams desperate for championship equity would salivate over adding a player of his caliber. Look for Durant to land on a team like the Houston Rockets or Miami Heat, where his scoring touch could swing title odds.”

Individuals can criticize the Suns and their lackluster play this season, but they shouldn’t blame Durant for the franchise’s shortcomings.

Durant, a 36-year-old two-time NBA champion who continues to torment opposing defenses on the perimeter, has been remarkable with the Suns in Year 18.

The Texas product averages 27.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per contest, shooting 53.2% from the field and 40.4% from downtown on a Suns team possessing the No. 11 seed in the loaded Western Conference.

Although the Heat acquired Andrew Wiggins, a talented scorer with an NBA title on his resume, in the blockbuster Feb. 5 trade involving Jimmy Butler, the organization would benefit from landing Durant, a Top 10-15 player, in free agency and instantly raising their ceiling.

With ESPN’s Brian Windhorst recently reporting that Durant will likely be on the move during the offseason, the Heat should consider pursuing the accomplished phenom and building an elite trio of Durant, Herro, and Bam Adebayo.
