One of the most beloved parts of the NHL season, the Stadium Series, comes to Ohio Stadium on March 1 when the Blue Jackets face the Red Wings.
In what has become an annual tradition, a select few games of the NHL’s springtime calendar are played at major college stadiums across the U.S. This one will take place at the home of Ohio State, at one of the five largest sports stadiums in the world.
Ohio Stadium is not a far trek for the Blue Jackets, who typically play at Nationwide Arena just 10 minutes down Route 315. It will be a little more of a haul for the Red Wings, but it’s just a quick trip over the Ohio-Michigan border.

Both these teams have enjoyed decent 2024-25 seasons. As of mid-February, the Blue Jackets ranked fourth in the Metropolitan Division and the Red Wings ranked fifth in the Atlantic. But as both fight for a spot in the upcoming playoffs, this matchup has even more weight on it.
