WATCH: Patriots QB Drake Maye takes on the Precision Passing challenge at the Pro Bowl Games

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye had a strong rookie season, appearing in 13 games and starting in 12 while completing 66.6% of his passes for 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also rushed for 421 yards and two scores.

That performance was good enough to name him an alternate for the Pro Bowl after Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson pulled out of the event.

On Thursday, Maye competed in the Precision Passing challenge for the Pro Bowl Skills Showdown. New England’s rookie was paired with their former tight end, Jonnu Smith, who had to answer trivia questions correctly to give the quarterback more time.

Maye was tasked with hitting targets all over the field in 80 seconds, but he didn’t have his most accurate day out there, scoring just 22 points.

Maye’s 22 points were the fewest among the six contestants. Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff won the event with 44 points while Minnesota’s Sam Darnold (39), Pittsburgh’s Russell Wilson (31), Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow (27) and Tampa Bay’s Baker Mayfield (27) all finished above New England’s quarterback.

It looks like the former Tar Heel will have something to work on this offseason.
