MLB analysts predict the Red Sox will make the playoffs next season

The Boston Red Sox have been a mediocre team for a while now, only making the playoffs once in the past four years. However, according to analysts on MLB Network’s Hot Stove, the Red Sox may be back when asked if the Sox will make the playoffs this upcoming season.

“I think they do. They really made a great run last year, and this is a lot of credit to Alex [Cora], how he runs this ship,” said Harold Reynolds. “He always thinking they’re gonna win, and he always seems to put them in a position, every night, to win the game that night.”

Analyst Matt Vasgersian continued, hyping up Cora as well, and saying their offseason success will help them. “[Cora] doesn’t ever yield to a rebuild phase, he’s uber-competitive. I think [the Red Sox] do as well…They were better than advertised last year, and I think that’ll be the case this year too.”

Last season the Sox finished 81-81, and looked like a playoff team in the first half. Now, after acquiring starting pitching, upgrading their bullpen, and having stud prospects ready to go, they might have their first playoff appearance in a few years.

Hopefully the Sox land a superstar righty hitter before the season starts, as that would definitely lock them in for the playoffs.
