The Dallas Mavericks could be adding a well-rounded big man to their rotation.
Maxi Kleber is considered one of the Mavericks players who has a trade market. That’s why he could be moved to bring the team some much-needed help.
Fadeaway World proposes a trade that sends Kelly Olynyk of the Toronto Raptors to Dallas in exchange for Maxi Kleber and the Mavs’ 2025 first-round pick. However, Olynyk’s averages are down considerably this season, so the organization may not even need to send a first-rounder Toronto’s way to get this deal done.
Dallas could instead opt to send one of the two 2025 second-round picks in their cache. One of them comes from the Detroit Pistons, and the other comes from the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Raptors big man could help Luka Doncic run the offense and Kyrie Irving get clean looks given his playmaking chops. Olynyk has the ability to make the entry, backdoor, or skip pass, making him a dangerous facilitator on any spot on the floor.
He can also rebound and shoot the three-pointer at a solid efficiency, adding to his versatile skillset.
Olynyk has experience deep in the playoffs, as he was part of the Miami Heat roster that got to the NBA Finals in 2020.
He’s played for a number of teams since then, but he’s frequently had stretches where he’s channeled his inner Nikola Jokić by posting near triple-doubles each night, proving he can step up in situations in which his star teammates go down.
It’s an incredible luxury to have an all-around talent in playoff games, and that’s exactly what Olynyk could provide.
