Former NBA PG Brandon Jennings vs Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum; the beef explained

The Boston Celtics’ main superstar Jayson Tatum has been the center of most scrutiny for the team. Recently, former Milwaukee Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings called out Tatum for being the ‘softest’ Celtics superstar ever, and now it’s turned into a full on beef. Here’s how it started, and how it’s going.

Jennings Calls Out Tatum

Jennings called out Tatum on Gilbert Arenas podcast, saying he was the softest Celtics superstar ever. To Tatum’s defense, Arenas berated Jennings for his take. “”Whoever saying he’s soft… that’s a soft *** 28ppg he’s averaging. Go on out there and get your head bust!”

Tatum Claps Back

After that clip came out, Tatum responded accordingly. In his next game against the Denver Nuggets, Tatum led the Celtics to victory, 116-108, with 29 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

He then made a post on Instagram after the win, with the caption, “SoFtesT SuPeRstar in CeLtiC HiStoRy” as a clapback to Jennings’ comments. Jennings then responded on his own Instagram.

Jennings’ Response

Jennings responded with multiple posts on his Instagram story. The posts showed how many Celtics he thought were better than Tatum, and how Jennings was going to come to games in May and June during the playoffs to see if Tatum could back his words up.

This may be another “The energy is about to shift” moment, where the struggling Celtics last year had an amazing second-half turn around after superstar Jaylen Brown tweeted that phrase. Hopefully, it is, and Tatum starts to really dominate.
