Is Josh Allen hurt? Bills QB gets X-rays and ‘peace of mind’ after ‘funky fall’ vs. Lions

Josh Allen added yet another glittering display to a season increasingly filled with them on Sunday afternoon.

Facing off against the NFC-leading Lions, Allen was nigh on to faultless, producing the sort of showcase that has him surging up the MVP leaderboards.

The result was a predictable one given Allen’s excellence: Buffalo captured a momentous 48-42 victory, one that helped Sean McDermott’s side keep pace with AFC leaders Kansas City at the top of the pack.

And yet, for a moment, Bills fans were left wondering if their golden-arm standout was felled by an undisclosed ailment.

Here’s the latest on Allen’s health following Sunday’s game.

Is Josh Allen hurt?

No, Allen isn’t hurt. According to ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg, he headed into the X-ray room following Buffalo’s win over Detroit — a game in which he tallied 430 yards of total offense and four total touchdowns (two passing, two rushing).

Allen explained that the reason why he went to the X-ray room was to get some “peace of mind” after taking a “funky fall” toward the end of Sunday’s game.

At no point during the game did he appear to be banged-up, nor did he say what body part he had checked out. Internet sleuths assume Allen was having his shoulder looked at after taking a couple of hard tumbles during the game.

Allen’s MVP candidacy continues to build as the temperatures drop. He’s up to 36 total touchdowns and nearly 3,900 yards of total offense on the year. By comparison, he’s accrued just five interceptions, a marked departure from the 18-pick campaign he authored next season.

As long as he remains healthy, he figures to be in contention for his first MVP award.
