Potential Phillies-Astros blockbuster lands 3x All-Star in Philly

The Philadelphia Phillies are looking to shake things up a little bit this offseason, though they still should remain a top team in the National League.

They could look to make some trades to improve their roster for 2025 after they lost the NLDS to the New York Mets. In fact, they could be in the market for a major upgrade in their outfield.

The Houston Astros are shopping three-time All-Star and former World Series champion Kyle Tucker, who has just one year left on his contract. MLB.com notes that the Phillies could potentially find a fit for him.

“The Phillies want to upgrade their lineup, and they need somebody who can play in the outfield. For those reasons, Tucker seems like a perfect fit,” Todd Zolecki wrote. “Don’t be surprised if the Phillies take a serious run at Tucker.”

Tucker would give Philadelphia a slugger from the left side of the plate and a major offensive upgrade. Houston would expect a major haul in return for him though, and Zolecki also notes that if the price was too steep for Garrett Crochet, the same could be said for Tucker.

Still, it would make sense for the Phillies to pursue him. They are hungry after losing the NLDS and want to take another shot at a World Series title.

They should still be in the mix with the top teams in the NL next year, and it will be interesting to see if they make a run at the Astros slugger.
