A big night is loading for Austin Reaves.
The Los Angeles Lakers won’t have Luka Doncic or LeBron James on the floor for Friday night’s matchup with the Boston Celtics.
Reaves put up 44 points and 10 assists on Thursday against the Raptors, and that was with James playing.
The usage rate for Reaves will be sky high for the rivalry game, and it’ll be up to him to do big things with it.
In the meantime, though, it’s a bummer that Doncic remains out.

Why isn’t Luka Doncic playing tonight?
Luka Doncic isn’t out because of an injury, but rather for personal reasons.
He’s in Slovenia with his wife as she gives birth.
It’s a good reason to miss time, to be sure.
It does end up being a longer absence by virtue of his wife being in Slovenia and not right down the road, but that’s how life works sometimes.
The Lakers will await Luka’s return, potentially with the superpowers that come with being a new dad, too.
In the meantime, L.A. will rely on Reaves to lead the way.
