The Los Angeles Dodgers just won back-to-back World Series and are now going for the three-peat. If they want to do that, they need to make sure their team is unbeatable.
Luckily for them, there’s a trade that can do just that. While they already have broken baseball, Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter believes the Dodgers could do it once again by trading for Pittsburgh Pirates Cy Young winner Paul Skenes.

The trade would look like this:
Dodgers get: RHP Paul Skenes
Pirates get: RHP Emmet Sheehan, OF Andy Pages, C Dalton Rushing, OF Josue De Paula, IF Alex Freeland

This past season, Skenes posted a 10-10 record, a 1.97 ERA, 216 Ks, and a WHIP of 0.948 over 187 innings pitched. He also won his first Cy Young Award unanimously after winning Rookie of the Year last season, and earned his second All-Star nod.
Having Skenes with Yoshinobu Yamamoto would give the Dodgers the best two pitchers in the National League. Combine that with Shohei Ohtani, Blake Snell, and Tyler Glasnow, and the Dodgers have the best rotation in the MLB for the next half-decade at least, hands down.
The Pirates are pretty unlikely to give up Skenes, and probably would rather keep him till his contract runs out. However, offering the farm up for Skenes may be tempting, so L.A. had better start negotiations just to see if they can.
