The NFL is back with three Thanksgiving games in Week 13. The day begins with the Green Bay Packers going on the road to face the Detroit Lions in a key NFC North matchup.

The Packers (7-3-1) have won back-to-back games after a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Most recently, they’re coming off a 23-6 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Green Bay was without starting running back Josh Jacobs, but backup Emmanuel Wilson stepped up with a huge performance. He finished with 107 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries and caught both of his targets for 18 yards.

The Lions (7-4) lost a close game to the Eagles in Week 11 but responded with a win over the New York Giants in Week 12. While a win is a win, the Lions did need overtime to beat the Giants. The defense struggled to contain Jameis Winston and New York’s trick plays, and Detroit could have easily come away with a loss if not for Jahmyr Gibbs’ impressive day. The starting running back finished with 219 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, plus 45 yards and another touchdown on 11 receptions.

12:45 p.m. — It is 12:45 p.m., and the game hasn’t started. For avid Thanksgiving football fans you may be wondering what’s going on. In past years, the games have started at 12:30, but the NFL pushed it back a half hour to match the more typical Sunday schedule.

12:20 p.m. — This is a classic Thanksgiving matchup. The Packers and Lions have played each other 22 times on Thanksgiving, making the 2025 matchup the 23rd edition of the series. This is the most common Thanksgiving matchup in NFL history. Currently, the Lions lead the series 12-9-1.

Packers vs. Lions start time
