The Jays are in the World Series, taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers, and they’ve got a whole country behind them.
It didn’t used to be this way. There used to be Canadian competition.
Not anymore, though.

How many MLB teams are in Canada?
There is just one MLB team in Canada.
The Toronto Blue Jays represent the entire country.
Canada used to have a second team, the Montreal Expos.
The Expos played their last season in 2004, though. After that season, they departed Montreal and moved to Washington, D.C., where they now play as the Nationals.
The Blue Jays have an interesting quirk that comes with being the only team: Their home broadcast gets to broadcast the World Series, too. That’s because Sportsnet holds the broadcast rights for the entire country, and with them doing all the Blue Jays games already, Canadian fans get to listen to their home broadcasters.
The NBA also has one Canadian team, the Toronto Raptors.
The NFL has no teams in Canada.
It’s obviously not the same in the NHL, which has plenty of Canadian rivalries.
But in MLB, everyone in Canada is rooting for Toronto.
