Brad Paisley sang the national anthem before the 2 longest games in World Series history

If you see Brad Paisley out there about to sing the national anthem, buckle up for the long haul.

He’s got a way of making baseball games go on longer than they ever have.

The country music star sang the anthem Monday night in Hollywood before Game 3 of the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays.

And then it took 18 innings for the Dodgers to beat the Blue Jays, 6-5, on a walk-off Freddie Freeman home run, tying the record for the longest World Series game ever.

It tied the 2018 World Series Game 3, also played at Dodger Stadium, which Max Muncy won on a walk-off homer against the Boston Red Sox.

Yep, Paisley was the anthem singer that night, too.

MLB.com’s Anthony Castrovince shared this stat on X overnight, adding that Paisley had also sung before an 11-inning World Series Game 2 in 2017 and a 10-inning World Series Game 1 in 2022.

That’s a lot of innings.

Paisley must just like bonus baseball.

Not all that different from Paisley’s song, “We Danced,” when the bar was already shut down for the night, but the night just kept on going.

And we danced
Out there on that empty hardwood floor
The chairs up and the lights turned way down low
The music played, we held each other close
And we danced
Like no one else had ever danced before
I can’t explain what happened on that floor
But the music played, we held each other close
And we danced
Yeah, we danced

And when Paisley sings the national anthem, the World Series participants play baseball like no one ever has before.
