The Toronto Maple Leafs had a couple of days off, but William Nylander’s playing status for Tuesday night’s game is still in question.
The star forward is expected to be a game-time decision ahead of the matchup with the Calgary Flames, a team Nylander usually puts up big numbers against.
Nylander exited the Maple Leafs’ Friday matchup against the Buffalo Sabres with a lower-body injury.
He didn’t play in the Saturday leg of the back-to-back after his collision with Jason Zucker had hurt him the night before.
Is William Nylander playing tonight?
Nylander is expected to be a game-time decision Tuesday night.
“I think it depends on a couple of things,” head coach Craig Berube said, via The Hockey News. “I really don’t want to get too detailed into it, but there’s a couple areas where he needs to feel right. It’s hard for him to know until it’s game time out in the warm-up and how he feels and how he’s doing certain things. That’s the decision that’s going to be made.”
Nylander was reportedly a full participant in Monday’s practice, which is a good sign.
The Swedish star Nylander is currently the Maple Leafs’ leading scorer. He has 14 points through eight games.
Toronto would sure feel better about its chances against Calgary if Nylander can get back onto the ice.
