Cam Skattebo fantasy injury update

Skattebo was carted off in an air cast in Week 8 after suffering a dislocated right ankle on an incomplete pass from quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Skattebo went down immediately and knew he had a serious injury.

Now, the running back’s season looks to be over.

Should I drop Cam Skattebo in fantasy leagues?

Yes — but only in redraft (single-year) fantasy leagues. It’s highly unlikely he’ll be back in time for even the fantasy playoffs at this rate.

Dynasty managers who were lucky enough to draft him should tuck him away on injured reserve until next season. The Arizona State alum remains a clear top-20 running back for the long term, thanks to his two-way production as a rusher and receiver.

Depending on the size of your league and keepers list, you’ll likely want to control his rights going into next season, regardless of his return timetable that could drag late into the 2026 season.

Which Giants RB is the best fantasy pickup after Skattebo’s injury?

Tyrone Tracy led the Giants backfield with 53 yards from scrimmage in Week 8 and took over as lead back after Skattebo’s injury.

The second-year back gobbled up 1,123 offensive yards in his rookie season and should take the baton as the No. 1.

Tracy is a priority pickup in our Week 9 waiver wire report.

Devin Singletary always hangs around due to his versatility, and he could figure more prominently into the passing game than Tracy. The veteran is an acceptable fantasy depth piece as the likely No. 2 back and could be useful in the final stretch of bye weeks.

The third back on the depth chart, Eric Gray, is on the Physically Unable to Perform list with a knee injury but could return in the coming weeks to add depth to this backfield.

Expect the Giants to explore external options to found out this depth chart, though. As of Sunday night, the only running back on the Giants’ practice squad is Dante Miller (5-foot-9, 200 pounds) from South Carolina, an undrafted signee.
