Eagles make decision on trading A.J. Brown amid rumors

Essentially since the moment A.J. Brown’s season got off to a bumpy start, the Philadelphia Eagles’ star wide receiver has been floated in trade rumors.

But Philly has made up its mind on what to do with Brown, and it’s not going to make those speculators look right.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported the Eagles won’t be dealing Brown before the Nov. 4 NFL trade deadline.

Brown is part of a 1-2 WR punch with Devonta Smith for QB Jalen Hurts in an offense that also has superstar RB Saquon Barkley.

Together, they got the Eagles a Super Bowl in February, and they want to run it back this season, at 5-2 through seven weeks.

“Teams still are eyeing Brown as the deadline approaches, according to sources, but the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles are not looking to move the three-time Pro Bowler,” Schefter wrote. “The Eagles would be willing to listen to any trade offer, but sources believe Philadelphia would not be willing to part with Brown for anything less than a blockbuster offer, which is not expected to be forthcoming.”

Brown is out in Week 8. He has a hamstring injury and won’t play in the showdown with the New York Giants.

The Eagles then have a bye in Week 9 before taking on the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football in Week 10.

Brown is in his fourth season in Philadelphia. His quiet season got a boost in Week 7 when he had 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns in a win over the Vikings.

He’ll miss at least a week now, but he isn’t going anywhere.
