The Toronto Blue Jays have made it back to the World Series for the first time since 1993. That year, the Blue Jays won their second consecutive World Series title under manager Cito Gaston.
Toronto is now managed by John Schneider. He was initially drafted by the Blue Jays and made his way through their minor league system. When too many concussions ended his playing career, he ended up getting into coaching. Schneider returned to Toronto and served as the bench coach in 2022, when manager Charlie Montoyo was fired.
Schneider was named interim head coach in 2022 and later made permanent following a coaching search. While he has seen Toronto steadily improve during his tenure, getting them back to the World Series is currently the highlight of his coaching career.
Here is more on the Blue Jays manager.
