The Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, and Washington Commanders have all been connected to the wide receiver trade market ahead of the November 4 deadline.
According to Eric D. Williams of FOX Sports, the Steelers, Bills, and Commanders are likely to be buyers at the trade deadline and are hunting for help at wide receiver.
“The Steelers, Commanders and Buffalo Bills make the most sense as potential buyers, according to one league source,” Williams wrote.
“The Steelers will add a WR,” the NFL source told me [Williams]. “It’s hard to predict what level. Maybe Washington, depending on health. And I could see the Bills maybe adding a real cheap guy.”
The source that spoke to Williams is confident that Pittsburgh will add to its receiver room before the deadline, while Washington and Buffalo also remain out there as potential landing spots for another pass-catcher.
It’s no surprise that the Steelers are still actively looking for a receiver. The team has been seeking to acquire a capable No.2 opposite DK Metcalf since trading away George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys in May.
The Commanders aren’t in desperate need of a receiver, but Dan Quinn’s squad has gone through some injuries at the position. Sean McDermott and the Bills also have a solid receiving group, but adding more playmakers for quarterback Josh Allen would be a wise move.
Overall, Pittsburgh is the prominent landing spot for any top receiver on the market. Mike Tomlin’s group is in contention for the top spot in the AFC, so acquiring another weapon for quarterback Aaron Rodgers could put them in a nice position to compete for the No.1 seed in the conference.
