Did Vladimir Guerrero Sr. win a World Series? Complete championship history for former MLB slugger

Vladimir Guerrero Sr. was a dominant player in his MLB career, hitting 449 home runs and making the Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2018.

Guerrero is known for his incredible power and hitting ability at the plate, along with a strong arm in the field, which helped him win an MVP award in 2004. He made nine All-Star Games and won eight Silver Slugger awards from 1996 to 2011 before retiring at the age of 36.

Despite Guerrero’s talents, the outfielder never found much success in the postseason. Guerrero played 16 years in Major League Baseball but totaled just 44 playoff games, as his teams failed to make consistent runs in the postseason.

Did Vladimir Guerrero Sr. win a World Series?

Vladimir Guerrero Sr. never won a World Series in his 16-year career. The hall-of-fame outfielder spent his time in MLB with the Montreal Expos, Los Angeles Angels, Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles, teams that combined for just one World Series appearance with Guerrero on the roster.

Guerrero played in just one World Series during his career, which came when he was 35 years old and playing for the Texas Rangers.

After six years with the Angels, Guerrero signed a one-year deal with the Rangers in 2010 to be Texas’ designated hitter. That year, the Rangers had their best season in over 10 years, winning 90 games and making the playoffs for the first time since 1999.

The Rangers made the World Series for the first time in franchise history but lost to the San Francisco Giants in five games. Normally the DH, Guerrero started Game 1 in San Francisco as an outfielder, then returned to his designated hitter role in Games 3–5.

Overall, Guerrero made 16 plate appearances in the World Series, collecting just one hit and two RBIs.

Guerrero spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Expos, but he never made the playoffs while playing in Montreal. Therefore, after Guerrero signed a free-agent deal with the Los Angeles Angels in 2003, he finally got the chance to play in the postseason.

In six years with the Angels, Guerrero played in the playoffs five times for a total of 29 games. While the outfielder was one of the best players in the league at the time, he struggled initially in October but had his best two postseason performances in 2008 and 2009.

After leaving the Angels, Guerrero joined the division-rival Texas Rangers in 2010, which is when he made the World Series for the only time in his career. In total, though, Guerrero struggled in the playoffs, as he had just 13 hits and two walks in 62 plate appearances.

Guerrero spent the final season of his career with the Baltimore Orioles in 2011, but the Orioles didn’t make the playoffs that year.
