Chiefs, Chargers, Cardinals named potential trade suitors for explosive 2,000 yard, 14-TD RB

The New York Jets are off to a horrendous start, to say the least, and Breece Hall has been an interesting name to watch ever since the summer. He is in the final year of his contract, and it was clear over the summer that no extension was coming.

“I’m not really expecting it before the season,” he told reporters. “We got a new head coach (Aaron Glenn), new GM (Darren Mougey). Obviously, I wasn’t drafted by them, I’m not their guy. So for me, like I said, I’ve got to prove it every day. For me, I’ve got a chip on my shoulder. I feel like right now, OK, it’s my last chance,” Hall said during the summer.

With trade talks happening all offseason, he finally addressed the situation earlier this week.

“This is my fifth month dealing with this now,” Hall said. “At this point, it is what it is. I’m here. I want to be here. I love being a New York Jet and everything. At the end of the day, I don’t control what goes on, I only control what I do on the field and how I handle my business off the field. So for me it’s all about servicing my teammates and coaches the best way I can, and let God handle whatever else.”

Hall’s name has come up recently as a potential trade candidate, with some strong teams possibly interested in acquiring him.

“New York declined to give much thought to a potential Hall trade prior to the season, preferring to keep the backfield well stocked. Fresh off a 100-yard outing in Week 5, isn’t it possible Hall actually has more value to Gang Green as a trade chip. Potential landing spots: Cardinals, Chargers, Chiefs,” CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin wrote.

Hall has immense potential, but the Jets might not be the right place for him. The Chargers, Chiefs, and Cardinals could all benefit from his talents as a primary back, especially with injuries and uncertainties in their running back rooms.

At this point, Hall just needs a fresh start. Staying in New York seems like more of a hassle than a help for him.
