Just days after his release from the Las Vegas Raiders, linebacker Germaine Pratt has landed on his feet.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, the Indianapolis Colts are signing Pratt to a one-year deal, which reunites him with his former Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who is now in the same role in Indianapolis.
Pelissero and Rapoport note that four other teams had interest in Pratt, but he ultimately decided to go to Indy, a team that sports a 4-1 record.
Pratt was cut loose by the Bengals during the offseason before signing with the Raiders in free agency.
He started the first four games of the season for Las Vegas, but he was ruled out for the Week 5 contest against the Colts due to a personal reason.
Raiders head coach Pete Carroll chalked Pratt’s absence up to a personnel change at linebacker. One can assume Pratt didn’t take kindly to the change, which is why he wasn’t with the team for Sunday’s contest. He was then released.
Over four games with the Raiders, Pratt tallied 25 tackles, one tackle for loss and two passes defensed. He sports Pro Football Focus grades of 56.7 overall, 53.6 in the pass rush, 48.9 in run defense and 64.3 in coverage.
