The Baltimore Ravens are in a tough spot right now, dropping to 1-4 after a 44-10 beatdown at the hands of the Houston Texans.
With no Lamar Jackson, it was Cooper Rush under center, and the Ravens’ offense simply failed to get going in any capacity, with Rush throwing three interceptions, which can’t happen for a team riddled with injuries.
It is unfamiliar territory for Baltimore, and with the dark clouds hovering over the franchise, many are wondering if there is light at the end of the tunnel, even with Lamar returns.
And for head coach John Harbaugh, when asked if this was his most challenging season, he acknowledged that, and he’s looking at his locker room and seeing who is ready to stand up and fight.
“I think every year had challenges, and if you look back at some of those seasons, there were stretches, none more challenging than this right now,” Harbaugh said. “This is tough. But this becomes a measuring stick for all of us. So, what ends up happening is when you go through situations like this, when people look back and say when things were the toughest, looked the worst, when we were at our lowest point, how did you handle it?
“I’m looking for people to come out fighting and give their best in those situations.”

Ravens faced with brutal playoff reality
At 1-4, it is already tough for the Ravens when it comes to making the playoffs, and based on what we saw against Houston, you will be hard-pressed to find anyone who thinks they can beat the Los Angeles Rams next week.
So, at 1-5 heading to the bye, it is hoped Lamar is back for Week 7 against the Chicago Bears.
Even then, the Ravens would likely need to run the table to even have a small chance of making the postseason and would need the Pittsburgh Steelers to fall in a heap, too.
Are the Ravens out of playoff contention? Not yet.
But goodness me, they are lying on the canvas, brutally beaten, with not much light at the end of the tunnel.
