Where is the Ryder Cup being played? Location and more course details for Bethpage Black

After a trip to Rome in 2023, the Ryder Cup is returning to the U.S. in 2025.

The biennial golf event, which pins a U.S. squad against a European squad, has traditionally alternated venues in the United States and Europe in its nearly century of existence. Recent U.S destinations for the Ryder Cup include Wisconsin (2021), Minnesota (2016) and Illinois (2012), while the recent Europe trips have included Italy (2023), France (2018) and Scotland (2014).

This year, the Cup is heading to the northern United States for a course that hosted the 2002 U.S. Open, 2009 U.S. Open, and 2019 PGA Championship.

Where is the Ryder Cup in 2025?

  • Location: Farmingdale, New York

The Ryder Cup is heading to Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York in 2025.  Bethpage Black is a public course within Bethpage State Park, and it was established in 1936. The Black course is the most difficult of the five at Bethpage.

Past events that have been held at Bethpage Black include the U.S. Open in 2002 and 2009, the Barclays in 2012 and 2016, and the PGA Championship in 2019. Bethpage Black is also set to host the 2028 Women’s PGA Championship and 2033 PGA Championship.

Farmingdale is an incorporated village that is within the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, and on Long Island, New York. Farmingdale is around 37 miles southeast from Manhattan.

This will be the second-ever Ryder Cup held in New York, with the other coming in 1995 at Oak Hill Country Club.

Bethpage Black course details

  • Par: 71
  • Distance: 7,486 yards

The Black course at Bethpage was designed by Joseph H. Burbeck and architect A.W. Tillinghast, opening in 1936. The current record for the par-71 course was set in the 2019 PGA Championship, as Brooks Koepka notched an opening round 63.
