The Philadelphia Phillies as a team have played well, but outfielder Nick Castellanos hasn’t had the year he was looking for.
Throughout much of Castellanos’ time in Philadelphia, he’s been an average offensive player, something the team wasn’t expecting when they signed him to a deal.
At times, Castellanos has also made some concerning comments about his feelings towards the organization, which occurred again over the weekend when he publicly criticized skipper Rob Thomson. At the end of the day, despite not feeling great about his manager, Castellanos shouldn’t go out and say the things that he has.

However, there have been some positive comments along the way, which should make most happy, given the situation.
“I show up tomorrow and play a game,” Castellanos said when asked what he thinks about his future in Philadelphia, per Grace Del Pizzo of On Pattison. “That’s my future.”
“That would be really selfish and take away from what we’re trying to do as a group,” Castellanos added.

As long as Castellanos continues to show up every single day and help his teammates out, players on the roster and fans should be able to deal with what he has to say about his skipper.
It isn’t right to say that Thomson isn’t doing a good job or disagreeing with him, but ultimately, he has to focus on the guys in the clubhouse that he’s teammates with.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens throughout the offseason for the Phillies and Castellanos, but many believe that the organization and the former All-Star are due for a breakup.
