It ended his 11-year hiatus with the Chicago Cubs, and the World Series-winning starter looked towards helping the Los Angeles Angels get back to the playoffs, something they haven’t done since 2014.

At the start of the final week of the 2025 regular season, it was revealed that the now Los Angeles Angels pitcher, Kyle Hendricks, has been preparing to announce his retirement from Major League Baseball once the season concludes, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported.
Kyle Hendricks was the Game 7 starter for the Chicago Cubs when they won the World Series in 2016. This was the club’s first World Series win since 1908.
The 35-year-old’s pitching stats have gradually gotten worse since the COVID year in 2020, but that doesn’t subtract from the impressive career he’s had.
In 307 appearances in his career, Hendricks has a 105-91 record, 3.79 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 1,365 strikeouts in 1,740 innings pitched.
In his only season not being a part of the Cubs in 2025, he’s logged an 8-10 record, 4.79 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and 106 strikeouts in 159.2 innings.
