Deion Sanders drops major bomb while on the Kelce brothers ‘New Heights’ podcast

Jason and Travis Kelce have welcomed some major A-list stars and high-profile athletes onto their hit podcast New Heights since its debut in September 2022. However, on Monday, September 22, the brothers welcomed a surprise guest who is considered among the most legendary.

They hosted NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders for the 155th episode.

Deion, who became known as ‘Prime Time’ during his time playing in the NFL and later ‘Coach Prime’ when he became a coach, has had massive success throughout his career. He is now optimistic that his son, 23-year-old Shedeur Sanders, will find similar success, even if the recent 2025 NFL draft might not have gone quite as anticipated.

It was not until the fifth round of the draft that Shedeur was selected by the Cleveland Browns as the 144th pick. It was later reported that Shedeur had an opportunity to play for the Baltimore Ravens but allegedly rejected it.

While talking with the Kelce Brothers, Deion explained his son’s reasoning and why he personally agreed with the decision.

“I played for Baltimore, so me and Ozzie [Newsome] are cool,” Deion said. “So we understood that whole conversation, and he wanted to talk to Shedeur as well as he wanted to talk to me. I put Shedeur on the phone, and I don’t want to say how it went, but how in the world can somebody fault him for saying or thinking, ‘Why in the world would I go backup Lamar for 10 more years?’”

Shedeur believes that his son will learn the most by remaining on the field as much as possible.

“I’ve never sat on the bench and said, ‘Well, I’ve learned a lot today,'” he said.

Deion revealed he has this advice for his son, “Be patient and be ready. It’s gon’ go down this year. He gon’ get a shot.”
