Brewers clinch NL Central before having to win on Sunday

The Milwaukee Brewers are becoming known as a team that is dominating the NL Central. On Sunday, Milwaukee clinched the division for the third straight season and fourth time out of the last five seasons.

This season has been especially special for the Brewers, who looked up at the Chicago Cubs in the division for the first few months of the season, but got scorching hot in the middle months to get into first place, and then completely run away with it.

The Brewers lost, but still clinched

On Sunday, the Milwaukee Brewers were already aware of winning the NL Central after the Cubs lost to the Reds in Cincinnati. Later in the day, the Brew Crew lost 5-1 to the Cardinals, but it didn’t matter because the division was already won.

There is just one week remaining in the MLB regular season, and Milwaukee should lock up the top seed in the NL and all of MLB sometime next week, and enjoy having home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Milwaukee has been known as the organization to dominate the NL Central since 2020. You also have to give a lot of credit to manager Pat Murphy. The Brewers consist of a really strong starting rotation and a scrappy bunch of hitters that are known to be a very fundamental offense.

On Sunday, the Brewers also locked up being one of the two NL teams that will automatically advance to the NLDS, which begins in early October.

The Brewers were 25-28 on May 24 before getting really hot, with winning streaks of 11 and a franchise-best 14 games over a sensational stretch of 53 victories over their next 69 games to propel all other teams in the National League.
