Blue Jays’ Anthony Santander took the slowest home run trot of all time at Triple-A

It’s not really clear why Anthony Santander did this.

But the footage is there. Earlier this week, the Toronto Blue Jays’ outfielder homered on his rehab assignment while at Triple-A Buffalo, and he took the slowest home run trot you’ve ever seen.

It took Santander more than 40 seconds to round the bases.

It’s not even like he hit the ball 600 feet.

He just felt like taking his sweet ‘ole time.

Check it out:

Santander hasn’t done much of anything for the MLB Blue Jays this season.

He got hurt before Toronto turned its season around, and he hasn’t gotten back yet to help any late playoff pushes.

The Blue Jays have discovered other standout outfielders in Santander’s absence, making his offseason free agent signing feel a bit unnecessary at this point.

And the vibes of this home run trot don’t help. What is he doing?

We may never know.
