The Atlanta Falcons have been trying to figure out what to do at the kicker position since Younghoe Koo missed the game-tying kick at the end of Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, it is safe to say the Falcons made their intentions clear when signing kicker Parker Romo to the practice squad.
Champ Bailey says the Falcons’ decision to bench Younghoe Koo sent a clear message — losing isn’t acceptable. He believes that mentality shift is why Atlanta dominated the Vikings,” 680 The Fan posted.
Romo shined in his debut with the Falcons, connecting on five field goals and an extra point. However, head coach Raheem Morris has still yet to decide to pull the plug on Koo and his time in Atlanta.
“Falcons coach Raheem Morris said there is 90% chance is that Parker Romo is the kicker for the Panthers game,” AJC’s D. Orlando Ledbetter posted.
A decision is expected to possibly be made on Friday regarding the once-beloved Falcon.
“There’s really no reason for the Falcons to release Younghoe Koo early this week. I’m guessing the team will look for a trade and make a decision around Friday. His salary is already guaranteed, so no financial incentive,” The Falcoholic’s Kevin Knight wrote.

While there has yet to be any new information regarding the kickers, Romo’s latest family move may be the final sign for his future.
“Falcons K Parker Romo said his wife and young kids moved into town with him this week, relocating from Arkansas. Sounds like he’s got plans to stick around for the foreseeable future,” Falcons writer Joe Patrick posted.
As of now, it certainly seems like Romo has solidified the job and that Koo could very well be on his way out. This is an unfortunate circumstance, but Romo sure seems ready for the moment.
Koo had a good run in Atlanta, but all good things must come to an end. While not official, the tale of the tape is right there. Koo has seemingly gone through his time as a Falcon.
