Kevin Durant has four gold medal (2012 ,2016, 2020, 2024). He’s the leading scorer in Team USA Basketball history. But all good things must come to an end.
The forward is set to be 39 years old by the time the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles will begin. Still, he was asked recently if he would be willing to join the team when the time came.
“Yeah, if I’m still me,” Durant said at an event sponsored by his company Boardroom. “I don’t wanna be the veteran like ‘come sit on the bench and get your fifth.'”
Durant was then asked the follow-up question of if he would like to coach one day.
“Some days I would some days I wouldn’t,” he answered to chuckles from the audience.
If nothing else, KD has been transparent with his thoughts and feelings. The 2028 Olympics are almost three years away but right now he does want to play.

However with his injury history Durant may not be able to last into his year 20 season in the league.
But if he can stay healthy and in good form, it would be a romantic end to an epic career for one of the best to ever don a Team USA jersey.
