Where to watch Tottenham vs. Villarreal live stream, TV channel, start time, lineups for Champions League match

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Villarreal to North London on Tuesday for a Champions League clash that promises plenty of intrigue.

Spurs earned their place in Europe’s elite competition after lifting the Europa League trophy last season, while Villarreal secured qualification with a fifth-place finish in La Liga.

Tottenham cut loose after the break in their 3-0 triumph over 10-man West Ham on Saturday, piling further pressure on embattled manager Graham Potter.

Villarreal, meanwhile, saw their impressive 10-match unbeaten league run snapped at the Estadio Metropolitano, where an early strike in each half condemned them to a 2-0 defeat.

It will be a landmark meeting as the two clubs face each other for the very first time, with the Yellow Submarine making their debut visit to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the weekly schedule.

Tottenham vs. Villarreal lineups, team news

Tottenham brushed aside West Ham at the weekend despite being without club-record signing Dominic Solanke, who is still recovering from an ankle problem. The striker remains a major doubt for Tuesday’s clash with Villarreal and, at best, may only feature on the bench if passed fit.

The Lilywhites will certainly be without Yves Bissouma, Kota Takai, Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin, and James Maddison. All are sidelined through injury and were also omitted from Thomas Frank’s Champions League squad.

Mathys Tel, who led the line against West Ham, was also excluded due to homegrown player restrictions. His absence could pave the way for Richarlison or new arrival Randal Kolo Muani to lead the attack, while Xavi Simons looks set to keep his spot on the left after marking his debut with an assist.

Tottenham predicted starting XI (4-3-3, right to left): Vicario (GK) — Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie — Sarr, Bentancur, Bergvall — Kudus, Richarlison, Simons.

Injured: Solanke (knee), Kulusevski (knee), Maddison (ACL), Bissouma (knock), Takai (foot), Dragusin (ACL).
Suspended: N/A

Villarreal, meanwhile, are dealing with their own injury headaches. Logan Costa and Pau Cabanes remain out with long-term ACL injuries, and former Manchester United defender Willy Kambwala is unlikely to return from a hamstring issue before December.

Star forward Gerard Moreno is also battling a hamstring concern, leaving his availability in doubt. Should he miss out, August’s La Liga Player of the Month, Nicolas Pepe, returning to North London, could continue up front.

Villarreal predicted starting XI (4-4-2, right to left): Junior (GK) — Mourino, Foyth, Veiga, Cardona — Pepe, Gueye, Parejo, Moleiro — Perez, Mikautadze.

Injured: Costa (ACL), Cabanes (ACL), Kambwala (hamstring), Moreno (hamstring).
Suspended: N/A
