The Cincinnati Bengals will be without quarterback Joe Burrow for at least three months due to a Grade Three turf toe injury that will require surgery. This puts backup quarterback Jake Browning at the helm for the foreseeable future.
While Browning has been the backup in Cincinnati for quite sometime, the Bengals are reportedly doing their due diligence to try and acquire another quarterback should things go south with Browning – including making a call to the Green Bay Packers.
Per Easton Butler, the Bengals called the Packers about quarterback Malik Willis. The Liberty product started two games for the Packers last season, going 2-0 in relief of Jordan Love, who was injured in the season-opener in Brazil against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Bengals don’t have a quarterback on the roster behind Browning, so an addition of some sort will be coming before Week 3.
