JUMP TO:
The Green Bay Packers continued their dominant start to the seasons, defeating the Washington Commanders and improving to 2-0.
Green Bay opened the game with two scoring drives that went over 90 yards in the first half, a sign that the Commanders were in for a long day. Those drives saw the Packers spread the ball around, both passing and running with several different contributors.
Quarterback Jordan Love had a stellar game, producing 292 passing yards and two touchdowns on the day. Love only had two incompletions when he wasn’t pressured, as he threw touchdowns to Tucker Kraft and Romeo Doubs.
However, it was perhaps the Packers’ defense that was the star of the game. Green Bay held Washington to three points in the first half and under 250 yards overall, the second-straight game the defense stifled a highly-powered offense.
Jayden Daniels had a tough time moving the ball all night, producing just 200 yards passing on 42 attempts and just 17 yards rushing. In fact, no Commanders running back totaled more than 17 yards on the ground in the game.
Washington’s defense, meanwhile, allowed the Packers receivers to get open and made life easier for Love. Despite a strong performance against the New York Giants last week, the Commanders couldn’t carry it over to this week.
Green Bay is now 2-0 on the year and looks to be one of the top contenders in the NFL, while the 1-1 Commanders will use the mini-bye to regroup.
