Falcons get concerning injury updates for WRs Drake London, Darnell Mooney

The most depleted positional room for the Atlanta Falcons right now has to be the wide receivers.

There were four WRs on the Wednesday injury report as the Falcons prepare to play the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football, including standouts Drake London and Darnell Mooney.

London hurt his shoulder late in the fourth quarter of the Week 1 loss to the Buccaneers. He was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday.

“When you ask me, ‘Do I expect him to play?’ Of course. Drake is an ultimate tough guy, and when he says he’s going to practice, that tells you a lot,” Falcons coach Raheem Morris told reporters.

In the opener, London had 15 targets but wasn’t particularly efficient, catching eight of them for 55 yards.

Mooney missed out on Week 1 with a shoulder injury that he sustained on the first day of training camp. He was also listed as limited on Wednesday.

“We’ll see as far as Mooney and playing and all those things,” Morris said. “But we’ll get him out at practice. That’s always fun, putting him back into all the stuff that we’ve been doing. And we’ll get a look and see toward the end of the week what he’s got going on.”

The Falcons were entirely without WRs Jamal Agnew (groin) and Casey Washington (concussion), who did not practice.

Two other players were DNPs: safety Jordan Fuller (knee) and offensive lineman Jack Nelson (calf).

And joining the star WRs on the limited list: DeMarcco Hellams (hamstring) and James Pearce Jr. (groin).
