Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson facing the Cleveland Browns is nothing new in his NFL career, having to see them twice a year as division rivals, but one thing that will be new for Jackson is facing former Raven Joe Flacco.
Having spent over a decade with the Ravens and winning a Super Bowl ring, Flacco has Baltimore embedded in his fibre; it is going to be something Ravens fans will have to get used to.
Having been with the Browns back in 2023 before heading to the Indianapolis Colts last season, Flacco has been around the block, and now he’ll be facing the Ravens as part of a Browns team looking to put Baltimore in an early-season hole at 0-2.
But will it be weird for Lamar to see Flacco as a Brown?
“Yeah, definitely,” Jackson said. “Division rival, and how many times he faced those guys [Browns]. Seeing the guy in the meeting room my rookie year, it’ll definitely be different.”

Is Ravens’ Week 2 clash vs. Browns must-win?
It might be odd to say about a Week 2 game, but it sure feels like it for Baltimore.
Having the Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Chiefs up next, if the Ravens somehow fall to the Browns, a 0-4 start might be on the table.
Granted, that is a worst-case scenario, but the Ravens need to take care of business in their home opener to get their teeth into the season. Yes, it will be a little odd seeing Flacco as the Browns’ quarterback, but this is business, and the Ravens need to take care of it.
Having curb-stomped the Bills up until the fourth quarter on Sunday night, the Ravens will want to get back to winning ways, and beating a division rival is the perfect tonic.
As far as Lamar’s “different” feelings toward Joe as a Brown, once he steps onto the field, all that matters is winning.
