The Milwaukee Bucks must improve their roster to become an Eastern Conference contender.
With Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future in question, their best bet would be to prove to their two-time league MVP that Milwaukee has a bright future and that he should want to stay for the foreseeable future.
To do that, they need to shake up their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season and add talent to make sure they’re not a first-round playoff exit for the fourth consecutive year.
Bucks Trade Idea Lands Two-Way Wing Andrew Wiggins
In a trade idea proposed by John Sbisa of Behind the Buck Pass, the Bucks would ship out assets for Miami Heat two-way forward Andrew Wiggins.
“The Bucks’ offer could look something like this: Kyle Kuzma, their 2031 first-rounder, and one of Taurean Prince or Gary Harris to make the salary exchange more equitable,” wrote Sbisa.
“Before Heat fans start scoffing – Kuzma for Wiggins? – there are a few things to consider. One, Milwaukee’s first-round pick is among the most coveted on the market. In itself, the pick is a better asset than post-prime Wiggins with two years and a lot of money left under contract. What matters to the Milwaukee Bucks is competing in the present, which is why they could consider flipping it.”
Wiggins, a former NBA champion, averaged 18 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists with the Golden State Warriors and Heat last season. He would be an instant upgrade over the incumbent Kyle Kuzma as the Bucks look to contend.
While Wiggins isn’t the superstar player that would put Milwaukee over the top, he is an elite role player who can handle the toughest defensive assignments, giving Antetokounmpo some leeway on defense.
If the Bucks want to keep their 2021 Finals MVP happy, this trade would be a great first step in the right direction.
