An ongoing contract stalemate has finally come to an end, with Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls reaching an agreement on a four-year, $100 million contract Tuesday, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
The Australian point guard entered restricted free agency seeking a deal worth roughly $30 million per season, while Chicago’s opening offer reportedly came in at four years, $80 million. After a lengthy negotiation process, the two sides met in the middle, securing a blockbuster long-term pact.
Giddey, who was acquired by the Bulls from the Oklahoma City Thunder in June 2024 in exchange for Alex Caruso, delivered a breakout season during his first year in Chicago. At just 22 years old, he showcased his well-rounded skills and posted several career-best numbers, helping solidify his case for a major payday.

How much did Josh Giddey get from Bulls?
Giddey’s new $100 million deal makes him the Bulls’ highest-paid player, which will certainly come with increased expectations. Still, he’s coming off arguably the best season of his career and displayed improvement in several key areas.
Giddey appeared in 70 regular-season games in 2024-25, averaging 14.6 points, along with career-high marks in rebounds (8.1), assists (7.2) and steals (1.2) across 30.2 minutes per game. He also showcased improvement from three-point range, shooting a career-best 37.8 percent from downtown.
Giddey is set to be a major part of Chicago’s ongoing rebuild alongside Matas Buzelis and Noa Essengue. Following three consecutive Play-In Tournament exits to the Miami Heat, the Bulls are preparing for a future with Giddey running the point.
Now, the Bulls will count on the former sixth overall pick to help lead them back to the postseason for the first time since the 2021-22 campaign.
