DeAndre Hopkins made the best first impression possible on the Baltimore Ravens and their passionate fanbase.
When Lamar Jackson tossed a pass down the right sideline in the second half against the Buffalo Bills into tight coverage, it looked like it may have been overthrown or too tightly guarded to be a completion.
But then Hopkins showed off his jumbo, incredible hands and leaped for a one-handed catch.
Somehow, he seemed to grab the football by its point and haul it in.

And yeah, there’s a stat for that.
ESPN’s Jamison Hensley writes that Hopkins is tied for the NFL lead since 2017 with four TD catches that required just one hand. He’s tied with Garrett Wilson and Courtland Sutton.
“The Ravens have a wide receiver who is dynamic after the catch (Zay Flowers) and another who can stretch the field (Rashod Bateman),” Hensley writes. “But Baltimore needed a receiver like Hopkins who can make contested catches just like this.”

Hopkins is well past his prime, sort of.
He’s not going to be a guy you target 15 times a game at this point.
But in need of a play, or maybe a score, Hopkins can still be that guy.
His catch became just a footnote after the Bills completed an epic comeback.
But it was a sign that Hopkins can come through for Lamar Jackson when his hands, or sometimes just hand, are called upon.
