The Denver Nuggets had themselves a productive offseason, but that shouldn’t stop them from continuing to improve their roster.
With the acquisition of Bruce Brown, Peyton Watson becomes expendable, and they could use him to strengthen their guard rotation.
One trade target, according to Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale, is a former second-round pick who has established himself in his young career.
“(Ayo) Dosunmu is not a conventional floor general, but he’s shown glimmers of improved playmaking coming around ball screens, and he knows how to facilitate when attacking downhill,” Favale said Monday.
“Payton Pritchard and Tyrese Haliburton were the only players last season to match his scoring efficiency (57.1 percent) and assist rate (12.4) on drives while finishing at least as many of them (371).”
“His ability to guard up on defense will permit Denver to play him beside Jamal Murray.”

The full trade would have the Denver Nuggets receiving Ayo Dosunmu and Justin Champagnie, the Chicago Bulls receiving Zeke Nnaji, Peyton Watson, a second-round pick, and a first-round pick, and the Washington Wizards getting a second-round pick from the Nuggets.
Russell Westbrook may not return to Denver, which would make this trade even better for the Nuggets.
Dosunmu came into Chicago and immediately made an impact, and in his four-year career has averaged 10.2 points per game.
Oftentimes, young guards struggle with their efficiency in the beginning of their career, but that has not been the case with Dosunmu.
He has shot 50% from the field in his career and is a plus defender.
If the Nuggets want to assume they will match up with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Finals, Dosonmu would be a great guy to have hound Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
