Chelsea ended a busy summer transfer window with the deadline day acquisition of Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton and Hove Albion on loan for the rest of the season.
The highly-rated 20-year-old will now spend the rest of the 2025/26 campaign at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking soon after his unveiling, the Argentine international said, “I’m very happy to join Chelsea.
“It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m just looking to add as much to the squad as possible, help the team and help the staff.”
It’s yet another Chelsea signing from Brighton after deals for the likes of Joao Pedro, Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella and Robert Sanchez in the last few years.
While the addition of Buonanotte is an exciting one, it is hard to see how he will fit into the scheme of things at Chelsea, given the wealth of options available to Enzo Maresca at the moment.

How will Facundo Buonanotte fit into Chelsea
Chelsea have made numerous attacking signings this summer, with Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho and Estevao Willian all joining the Blues.
Therefore, it is hard to see where Buonanotte will fit into the system at Chelsea. The Argentine international will have to play out of his skin to nail down a starting position in Enzo Maresca’s line-up.
Chelsea had a strong last season, wherein they finished fourth in the Premier League and also clinched the Conference League and the Club World Cup.
Now, it will be interesting to see if the addition of Buonanotte can take the squad up another level.
