Tottenham vs. Bournemouth lineups: Predicted starting XI, team news, injury latest as Udogie returns for Spurs

Tottenham take on Bournemouth in one of the afternoon Premier League kickoffs on Saturday, August 30.

Under the new management of Thomas Frank, Spurs have made a great start to the 2025/26 season, winning their opening two league fixtures against Burnley and Manchester City, scoring five goals and conceding none. They also came close to defeating Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth have also made an impressive start to the campaign. They gave a good account of themselves on the opening night of the against Liverpool before going down to the defending champions thanks to late drama.

However, they managed to get their season up and running with a 1-0 win over Wolves last week.

One of the advantages that the home side has going into this fixture is that they have had an entire week off since their last game. Tottenham are yet to start their Carabao Cup campaign, while Bournemouth crashed out of the competition on Wednesday following a 2-0 defeat to Premier League rivals Brentford.

Frank could name an unchanged squad from the side that did so well to beat City 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium last weekend, with potential new signing Xavi Simons not yet available.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is expected to return to a full-strength squad after making a series of changes for the EFL Cup clash against the Bees in midweek.

Frank has few fresh concerns ahead of the weekend as he aims to maintain Spurs’ perfect start to the Premier League.

Destiny Udogie will return to the matchday squad, which is a huge boost to the defence. Radu Dragusin is expected back towards the end of September. Meanwhile, midfielders Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison are out for the foreseeable future with knee injuries, and any deal for Xavi Simons will not be completed in time for him to play here.

A lot of the home side’s success will depend on whether new signing Mohammed Kudus can continue his good form. The Ghana international has struck up an instant connection with fellow forwards Richarlison and Brennan Johnson that has held Spurs in good stead so far this season.

Tottenham predicted starting XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Vicario (GK) — Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence — Bergvall, Bentancur — Johnson, Sarr, Kudus — Richarlison

Injured: Dragusin (knee), Maddison (ACL), Kulusevski (knee) Solomon (calf), Bissouma (undisc.)
Suspended: None

Bournemouth’s chances of getting anything from the game will depend heavily on their attacker, Antoine Semenyo, who has made a really bright start to the season.

He scored both the goals for the Cherries against Liverpool and set up Marcus Tavernier for the winner against Wolves last weekend.

Bournemouth manager Iraola has a fully fit squad to pick from, apart from the injury to Lewis Cook, who is set to return after the international break in September, and Enes Unal, who is a long-term absentee.

Julian Araujo is suspended after being sent off in the Carabao Cup against Brentford.

Bournemouth predicted starting XI (4-1-4-1, right to left): Petrovic (GK) — Smith, Diakite, Sensei, Truffert — Adams — Brook, Scott, Tavernier, Semenyo — Evanilson

Injured: Cook (knee), Unal (knee)
Suspended: Araujo
