FC Barcelona is set to play its third La Liga game of the season against Rayo Vallecano on August 31. Barcelona has two wins after two league games played. The Catalan club will play their third away game in a row, as they will face Rayo Vallecano at their Estadio de Vallecas.

Hansi Flick will count on more players like Gerard Martin, who is registered for the weekend, but new reports in Spain suggest that they will be without one of their key players.

Catalunya Radio reports that Gavi suffered an injury in team training, just two days before the match against Rayo Vallecano. Their report suggests the injury is nothing serious, but there are doubts about his presence against Rayo Vallecano.

Victor Navarro from COPE reports that Gavi injured his knee, and the club will determine the extent of the injury. Gavi is expected to miss the game this weekend against Rayo Vallecano and is also a doubt for the international break.

Gavi received Spain national team call-up

Gavi and other Barcelona players were included in the Spanish national team roster for the September international break. Spain will play two World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Turkiye.

Gavi’s latest injury could jeopardize his chances of playing with Spain next week, as Barcelona will not want to risk the player.

Gavi played in the first two La Liga games with Barcelona, but none of them as a starter. He provided an assist in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Mallorca.

He played 45 minutes against Levante and was seen as one of Barcelona’s best players as the team came back from losing 2-0 at halftime. Barcelona won the match 3-2.
