Former Celtics guard to miss time following surgery

The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently in their best chance to win an NBA championship since LeBron James and Kyrie Irving graced the team with their presence in the mid-2010s.

After posting a 64-18 record led to a five-game series loss to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference semifinals, the Cavs are back in business.

However, they will likely be down one of their starters to begin the year as they look to return to the championship picture.

Max Strus Is Set to Miss Training Camp, First Few Weeks of Season

Sam Amico of Hoops Wire announced that Cavs wing, former Boston Celtic Max Strus suffered a Jones fracture in his left foot while training over the offseason and that the surgery would cause him to miss about three to four months.

Unfortunately for Strus, injuries are not a new thing for him, as he missed 32 games last season for the Cavaliers, but was still able to start in 37 games while averaging 9.4 points per game while playing 25.5 minutes, and 11.7 points per game with the Cavs in the playoffs.

Strus was signed by the Celtics after going undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft and was signed to a two-way contract by the team before being cut by the team right before the regular season got underway.

Since then, Strus has slowly sprouted as an underrated star with the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, and with the Cavaliers, averaging as high as 12.2 points per game in the 2023-24 season.
