Villarreal set to lose star player to Premier League club

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Villarreal are set to sell one of their most talented players in Yeremy Pino to Premier League side Crystal Palace.

The club is set to sell him for a reported 30 million euro fee despite earlier reports suggesting the price could be around 50 million euros.

The 22-year-old has been a highly regarded talent but had some struggles last season as he was coming back from an ACL injury the season before.

Pino To Palace

It’s no shock that Palace were in the market for a creative player that can drift from the wings into the midfield as they recently lost Eberechi Eze to Arsenal. They received 70 millions euros for their star man and are quickly looking to use that money to buy his replacement.

Yeremy Pino was the player of choice as he fits the profile they’re looking for and is only 30 million euros as La Liga clubs are desperate to sell and his stock has gone down after a bit of an adjustment period from recovering from his ACL tear.

Villarreal were not expecting to part with Pino this summer but felt like the offer was good enough to part with the 22-year-old and will now explore their options for a replacement whether it be in the market or in house.

For Palace, they are looking to continue their project under Oliver Glasner as he’s guided them to an FA Cup title and Community Shield and are looking to continue to be successful with a Conference League run this season.

As for Villarreal, it’s a tough blow for their team as they’ve dealt with injuries to start the season but still have had a strong start to the season and will be playing in the Champions League this year.
